DJ Rap broke the mould when she stepped onto the drum'nbass scene as a Hardcore/Jungle DJ; not only stunningly beautiful, Rap was not afraid to make her mark on the predominantly male scene. Starting of as a DJ touring the UK, Europe, Japan and the States she became the premiere female DJ; she then started to make her own tracks, eventually setting up her own labels "Proper Talent" and "Low Key".
Last year DJ Rap signed to Higher Ground to join the likes of Grooverider and Leftfield as label mates. April 5th 1999 sees the release of her debut album Learning Curve, an album that is due to set her up amonst the musical movers of '99.
'Learning Curve' is a combination of her many musical influences; 'Bad Girl' the first release from the album along with 'Good To Be Alive' capture a more eclectic dancefloor sound while 'Ordinary Day' is vocally uplifting. 'Learning Curve' is an album of many moods, taking you on a cosmic journey of sound; orchestrated strings, ambience, breakbeat, live instrumentals and vocals.
