Arabesque Records New York City based Arabesque Recordings began as the classical music subsidiary of Caedmon Records. In 1988, Marvin Reiss and Ward Botsford purchased Arabesque, thereby initiating its operation as an independent label. A few years later Mr. Reiss bought out his partner and assumed sole ownership. Under his stewardship Arabesque has become one of the world's leading independent classical labels. In 1992 Arabesque expanded beyond the classical world when A & R director Daniel Chriss launched its eponymous Jazz label. Today Arabesque is recognized throughout the industry not only for its exceptional classical recordings but also for its innovative and dynamic jazz albums.
