Duncan Schiedt Rare Photographs
What began as a fan's attempt to record, on film, some of the sensations he was hearing developed into a lifelong avocation - the building of one of the world's premier archives of jazz photographs. Duncan Schiedt has been photographing jazz musicians on and offstage for sixty years, since his first pictures of the Benny Goodman Orchestra at New York's famed Paramount Theatre in 1939. Schiedt's photographs have appeared in countless books, magazines, album covers, as well as in three books on jazz that he has authored. His images have also been featured in major art museum exhibitions, and have found their way into various private collections. Now, for the first time, these historic images are made available in a limited offering. A series of professional quality prints, personally made by the photographer in his own facilities, and signed, can be yours. For permanence, each print is archivally processed. Fiber base, double weight matte stock is used.
