Featuring Rich Perry (tenor saxophone), George Colligan (piano), Doug Weiss (bass), and Darren Beckett (drums). This marks Perry's eighth effort as a leader for SteepleChase not to mention numerous appearances in The Harold Danko quartet. On this set he focuses on works associated with two of the premier jazz soloists in the second half of the 20th century, Miles Davis and Stan Getz covering tunes like "Nardis" and "O Grand Amor". This CD will prove to be his most thoughtful, well-shaped and passionate excursion to date. |
