Veteran pianist Richard Wyands worked with Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae in the mid 50s. His sensitive playing was highly appreciated by the luminaries of jazz such as Charles Mingus, Freddie Hubbard, Zoot Sims, Roy Haynes, Gigi Gryce, Oliver nelson Gene Ammons, Kenny Burrell to mention a few whom he performed with.
Wyands is one of the most under recorded artists and this is his long waited leader album in years. |
