Though Frank Foster is best known as the principal soloist/composer/arranger of the Count Basie Big Band (after Basie's death, Foster is leading the band), he often works and records with smaller ensemble such as the one recorded here. Except for "Scandia Skies" by Kenny Dorham, all tunes are Foster originals. |
