Review 1
Lee Konitz (b. October 13, 1927 in Chicago) is perhaps the only alto player who as a contemporary of Charlie Parker remained un-influenced by Parker and developed his own style.
"...I Concentrate On You on the excellent Danish jazz label SteepleChase... is a delightful, extremely mellow LP ... I love this album. I love Cole Porter, and Konitz is well-suited to Porter's music..." (Neil Teser - Chicago READER)
"...a completely lovely collection of Cole Porter songs. rolled out in endless exchanges between Lee's alto, which has rarely sounded better or more lyrical and Red Michell's bass..." (The Soho Weekly News) |
