We Remember Tal is a musical tribute to a great guitar player - Tal Farlow. There have been only a handful of jazz musicians that have taken their instrument to a new place. Tal was one of those musicians. This Tal Farlow Tribute album, produced by guitarist Mark Elf, features performances from six world class guitarists; Mark Elf, Peter Bernstein, Gene Bertoncini, Randy Johnston, Mundell Lowe and Jack Wilkins. The superb rhythm section includes drummer Idris Muhammad, bassist Dennis Irwin and vibist Joe Locke. We Remember Tal contains a wide range of standards that were among Tal's signature tunes along with several of his original compositions. Also included are two original tributes written by Mark Elf and Randy Johnston. |
